On view from May 16 to October 12, 2025, the “Espírito Singular” exhibition at Centro de Arte Oliva presents a selection of works from the Treger Saint Silvestre Collection. Curated by Martine Lusardy, the show highlights the vision of Richard Treger and António Saint Silvestre, who have spent over four decades assembling one of Europe’s most significant private collections of art brut.

The exhibition features more than 2,000 works, showcasing both historical figures like Henry Darger and contemporary artists like Barbara Demlczuk and Misleidys Francisca Castillo Pedroso, with a focus on raw expression, psychological depth, and non-conformity. Influenced by their African roots and inspired by Jean Dubuffet’s concept of art beyond cultural norms, “Espírito Singular” offers a fascinating journey through alternative artistic perspectives.
