With “curated by juergen maurer – highly personal”, galerie gugging presents paintings and drawings by the popular Austrian actor Juergen Maurer for the first time, alongside works by his artistic companions such as Peter Krawagna as well as Gugging Artists and their international peers. The exhibition is part of the “curated by” series, launched in 2017, which invites personalities to create new perspectives on Gugging Art. Maurer, who once studied graphics and never stopped painting and drawing, now reveals his previously hidden oeuvre. A vibrant dialogue unfolds between his works and those of artists such as Michel Nedjar, François Burland, Helmut Hladisch, and David Staretz. His passion for motorbikes also resonates in the show, reflected in works by Laila Bachtiar, Günther Schützenhöfer, and Leonard Fink. Carefully staged with personal dedication, the exhibition is set to be one of galerie gugging’s cultural highlights this autumn.
