The new permanent exhibition at the museum gugging encompasses five decades of art from Gugging: from Josef Bachler’s iconic drawings to the current work of younger artists, such as Jürgen Tauscher’s new, boldly colourful compositions.

gugging.! classic & contemporary makes the most of the entire range of creative productivity: Johann Hauser, Rudolf Horacek, Franz Kamlander, Oswald Tschirtner, August Walla and Arnold Schmidt are juxtaposed in an impressive manner. Leopold Strobl’s overdrawings mark a premiere for the museum gugging. The artist is also counted among the great discoveries internationally and his works can already be found in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art NY. The exhibition offers a captivating coupling of classic and contemporary art from Gugging and once again demonstrates its clear status as a benchmark within art brut.
