Born in New York in 1950 and based in South Africa since the 1980s, Roger Ballen is one of the most influential artists of our time, with his distinctive visual language oscillating between photography, drawing, and installation. Deeply rooted in Art Brut and Surrealism, his work explores the “black core” of the mind and combines formal rigor with bizarre, human intensity. We are delighted to represent Roger Ballen with immediate effect; his works can be found in the MoMA, Centre Pompidou, and Stedelijk Museum, among others.
