galerie gugging special edition #15: An unforgettable experience awaits culture enthusiasts at the Villa Gugging on May 7. The Austrian humour exceptional artists Manuel Rubey, Christoph Grissemann and Maschek half Robert Stachel take on the theater world success “Art” by Yasmina Reza.
Also friends in “real” life, they bring this wonderful story about male friendships and the importance of contemporary visual art to the stage in a quirky, captivating and fast-paced way in the form of a staged reading (directed by Caroline Peters). And they don’t take themselves too seriously either. Since all three are known for their spontaneity, one can assume that they will not only strictly stick to the script during the afternoon.
The choice of the Villa Gugging as the venue for this spectacular performance is no coincidence. It has a very special charm that Rubey, Grissemann and Stachel, after the premiere in Vienna’s Rabenhof, have now chosen Gugging as one of the internationally most important venues for the presentation and creation of unspoiled, original art. In doing so, they are also following in the footsteps of a certain David Bowie, who was also inspired by the Gugging Artists for one of his albums in the mid-1990s.
