Maria Magdolna Balassa was born in 1953 in Budapest, Hungary. Historical figures dominate the artist’s work – often strong women or the fight against illness and pain. She adds poetic texts to her figures, most of which are depicted in profile. Her drawings are usually created on a sheet of paper over which she draws a thin outline in black Indian ink, which she gently colours with coloured pencils. She primarily exhibits in Eastern Europe.
