Very little is known about Mona Dubitsch’s life. Her drawings were created during the early days of Gugging, when she was at the “Gugging Sanatorium and Nursing Home,” presumably under the supervision of Erna Navratil, and was completing drawing tests. Her artistic potential went unrecognized at the time, and her works were forgotten.

The drawings that have survived to this day offer insight into a body of work that was previously little known and highlight Mona Dubitsch as an artist in the early history of Gugging.
