exhibition – Because he’s there. Mountains in Contemporary Art

:: 9. Mai - 27. September :: Leopold Strobl im deutschen Hutmuseum Lindenberg

It’s art season at the Kulturfabrik, and for the first time, an overarching theme serves as the central motif of an exhibition: the mountains. In the Allgäu region, they are omnipresent—as a beloved view, a place of longing, and a challenge. But mountains are more than just a landscape: they are a canvas for projection, a force of resistance, and a blend of myth and reality.

The German Hat Museum in Lindenberg is dedicating its current exhibition to the theme of mountains. On display are works by 11 artists from the contemporary art world. In the various works, “mountain” is used both as a real monument and as a reflection of inner and societal images.

The artists come from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Some have long engaged with the motif of the mountain, while others have recently discovered it for themselves or are presenting their works in an unfamiliar context.

In addition to Leopold Strobl, the exhibition features works by Bruno Wank, Christine Lederer, Claudio Landolt, Felix Rehfeld, Hannah Parth & Elisa Schober, Leonie Felle, Martin Spengler, Markus Pieper, and Stephan Huber.
