We invite you to the eighth edition of the extraordinary concert & event series ‘gallery gugging special edition’. After many great artistic moments and even world premieres so far, Gerald Votava and Manuel Rubey, two of the most versatile and exciting Austrian actors, musicians, and cabaret artists of today, meet each other on stage at the Villa Gugging.

Gerald Votava is an actor, musician, cabaret artist, and author. He was seen in Maikäfer flieg!, Hotel Rock´n´Roll, Kater (selection) in theatres; he is known to a film and television audience from the TV series Schlawiner, Schnell ermittelt, SOKO Donau, Janus, Tatort (selection). At the Rabenhof theatre he performed “Iba de gaunz oamen Leit” by Christine Nöstlinger (director: Anatole Sternberg), Columbo Dreams by Peter Waldeck (director: Thomas Gratzer), and Hafen Wien by Ernst Molden (director: Thomas Gratzer). Votava is guitarist of the bands “Familie Lässig” and “Die Jolly Friends”. As a cabaret artist he was seen in Narzissmus und Tiere and Was gibt es Neues? (selection), he worked as a radio host for FM4 (until 2009) and Ö3 (until 1999). Votava was awarded with the “Romy” and the “Salzburger Stier” for Project X. (www.geraldvotava.at)

Manuel Rubey is an actor, singer, and cabaret artist. Born on March 26, 1979. 12 years Waldorf school. Winner of the Vienna Youth Speech Competition. Matriculation. Community service. Psychosocial centre in Baden. Studied philosophy and political science (4 terms). Acting school Krauss in Vienna. Lives with the artist Stefanie Nolz and their two daughters Ronja and Luise in Vienna. Prices: Romy Nomination as Best Actor 2017. Best Film for ‘Drachenjungfrau’ at Filmfest Biberach 2016 and Filmfestival in Sofia. Best Actor Award for ‘Gruber geht’. Austrian Film Award. Nomination Best Leading Role 2016 for ‘Gruber geht’. Romy Nomination as Best Actor 2015. Audience Award for ‘High Performance’ at the Max Ophüls Festival. Austrian cabaret award together with Thomas Stipsits for ‘Triest’.
