Laila Bachtiar was born in 1971 in Vienna, Austria. In 1990, she visited the House of Artists in Gugging one day a week; since 2003, she has been a daily visitor of the studio gugging. Her pencil and coloured pencil drawings predominantly show plants, animals or humans, and all have the same origin: a framework of lines, from which a motif is composed. Her works can be found in the State Collections of Lower Austria, Austria, the Hannah Rieger Collection, Austria, and in the Helmut Zambo Collection, Germany, among others.
