Lutz R. Ketscher was born in Gera, Germany, in 1942 and is regarded as one of the significant representatives of the Leipzig School and Fantastic Realism. After studying at the Leipzig Academy of Fine Arts and Book Arts under Wolfgang Mattheuer and Bernhard Heisig, he developed a distinctive visual language situated between surreal dream worlds, precise composition, and narrative density. His multilayered works combine masterful painting techniques with poetic imagination and have been presented in numerous national and international exhibitions. Works by the artist are included in public collections such as the Lindenau Museum Altenburg, the Dresden Kupferstich-Kabinett, and the Art Collection Gera.
